In response to reports in the British media about Brit newsman Martin Bashir, ABC has just released the following statement, confirming sad news about his health:
An MRI scan recently discovered a small growth on Martin Bashir’s pituitary gland. Bashir’s doctors have advised that no immediate action be taken as they monitor the situation month to month.
Bashir is feeling well as he continues to keep a full schedule anchoring and reporting for ABC News.
Bashir made headlines with his candid interviews of Princess Diana and Michael Jackson.
However, the eerie thing is, the way Bashir found out about the tumor gives credence to that saying, sometimes things happen for a reason.
Docs discovered the brain tumor while treating Bashir for a minor head injury he suffered at ABC’s studios.
We hope the treatment for the tumor is 100% successful.
It’s bittersweet but thankfully that head injury alerted him of the more serious problem sooner than he would have otherwise!
