Stella McCartney has run into legal troubles!
The designer, whose use of neutral colors is virtually her trademark, has logically released a perfume called Nude. Unfortunately for her, however, Ali Hewson, Bono‘s wife and owner of the company Nude Skincare, is now coming after her for use of the word “nude.” Hewson and her business partner, Brian Meehan, are suing McCartney for compensation, citing copyright infringement.
Hewson also owns eco-fashion line Edun, which is “nude” spelled backward.
This seems like an overreaction to us.
The case will go to court this fall, assuming the two don’t settle out of court before then.
