One cameo to rule them all, one Stephen Colbert to find them, one movie ticket to bring them all, and in the darkness of a movie theater, bind them!
To call his brief appearance in The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug “epic” would be an understatement, as Stephen’s cameo as a “Laketown Spy” (tip of the hat to you, IMDB) was more grandiose than the Argonath!
Stephen portrayed a one-eyed scout on the lookout for 13 dwarves in the recently released sequel, and even with two eyes, if you blinked, you would have definitely missed him! But if you spotted him, then he was truly a surprising sight to behold!
While we rooted for those cute little axe-wielding, Snow White-less dwarves, we were also secretly cheering on Stephen’s character too.
As one of Lord of the Rings‘ biggest fans, Stephen has the only right (just like Thorin) to be a part of the franchise. Congrats, Stephen!
