Furst’s son Nathan confirmed to the media outlet that the longtime actor and filmmaker died at the family home in Ventura County, California early on Friday morning. Not unexpected, he was surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones.
Furst had fought a battle with diabetes for years, even at one point later in life becoming a spokesman for the American Diabetes Association.
In his professional career, the actor was best known for his memorable portrayal of Kent ‘Flounder’ Dorfman in the classic 1978 film. He also had major rols in Babylon 5, St. Elsewhire, and others, while directing several episodes of Babylon 5, too.
Our thoughts are with the longtime actor and memorable big screen star, and our prayers center on his family, and all those who loved him.
