Stephen King's The Stand Coming To The Big Screen

This is a big idea to tackle. We hope they know what they are in for.
If you’re a Stephen King fan, most likely you’ve read The Stand. If you’re not, you’ve probably been exposed to its story and not even known it. The 1978 cult-like classic has influenced a lot of other material over the years with its post-apocalyptic themes, but never has anyone actually tackled telling King’s story in its on world. Until now…
CBS Films and Warner Bros. have announced that they are taking the first steps in making King’s The Stand a major motion picture…or two or three or more motion pictures! Meetings are being set up as we speak with producers to decided on a game plan in attacking making this story translate to a movie. Stephen’s said to be a part of the brainstorming process, but no word yet if he’ll actually be writing the script.
For those of you who aren’t familiar, The Stand is a story of good vs. evil after a virus wipes out most of the American population. A group of survivors spend the majority of the book fighting the Antichrist-like character Randall Flagg. He’s one scaaaaary dude! We can’t even think of anyone who could play him! Maybe they’ll get an unknown.
Like we said, this is a huge undertaking, but if it’s done right, they might have the makings of a prosperous new horror franchise. We’d be game for that.
How about U?
