Say it ain’t so!
Director Steven Soderbergh says he’s quitting filmmaking.
After he finishes his next two movies, Liberace, starring Michael Douglas, and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. starring George Clooney, Soderbergh says he will be moving on.
When asked why he wants to leave films behind, Soderbergh responded:

“It’s just time. When you reach the point where you’re like if I have to get into a van to do another scout I’m just going to shoot myself, it’s time to let somebody else who’s still excited about getting in the van, get in the van.
For the last three years I’ve been turning down everything that comes my way. You’re not gonna have Steven Soderbergh to kick around anymore.”

Wow, sounds like some bitter grapes. The guy has made many popular films including the Ocean’s Eleven series and Erin Brockovich so we hate to see him go…but it seems like he just doesn’t have the passion for it anymore.
Oh well. Let’s hope he changes his mind.
