Anyone who watches Storage Wars, the A&E reality series that focuses on professional buyers of abandoned storage units who purchase the contents based only on a five-minute inspection and what they can see only from the door when it is opened in order to turn a profit on the merchandise, knows that the auction hunters generally come up with a lot of useless garbage, but according to reports, one of them just struck gold – LITERALLY!
Dan and Laura Dotson have reportedly auctioned off a foreclosed unit to some amazingly lucky buyer for just over a grand that hid inside an ACTUAL, 200 year-old real-life PIRATES’ CHEST, filled with $500,000 worth of gold doubloons that, according to a treasure expert, dates back to anywhere between the 16th and 19th century!
The box was apparently so heavy that it took three people to move it out of storage!
