Stormy Daniels refuses to stay silent.
In a profile for Vogue published on Tuesday, the adult actress — whose real name is Stephanie Clifford — opens up about the death threats she has received since beginning her legal battle against Donald Trump.

The 39-year-old first gained notoriety when she claimed that Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, gave her a settlement before the 2016 election to not talk about her alleged affair with the President.
During her strip-club tour, the performer says she has received suspicious notes and substances while working at different clubs. The pornographic film star — who has hired a team of three full-time bodyguards — admits:

“We’ve been at restaurants when we order food and it’s taken too long or somebody was watching and we’ve had to leave — like that.”

In addition to being involved in “a couple car chases,” Daniels says she and her team have had to change hotel rooms in the middle of the night.

“We’ve had people put notes under the door, which means they know what hotel I’m in, which means we’ve had to change hotels in the middle of the night.”

Sadly, her newfound fame has greatly affected her relationship with her seven-year-old daughter, who has been pulled out of school after a man tried to take a photo of her. Daniels also admits the two don’t see each other in person very often.

“If I contact her, it makes her sad, so I just kind of have to wait until she wants to talk to me.”

Daniels also struggles with telling her daughter about her profession:

“She knows that people date and do this and that, and she knows that Trump is somebody I hung out with or knew three years before I even met her dad, so that’s all fine… The problem is they keep using the words porn star, and she doesn’t know what a porn star is, because she doesn’t know what sex is, and I’m not quite ready to have that conversation.”

Despite her family drama, Stormy’s popularity has given rise to a new fanbase. As opposed to middle-aged white men, her current audience consists of women, gay couples, immigrants, and other “assorted liberals.”

“My fan base is completely different… It’s pretty much these packs of women, and they are angry,”

Although people have called her a “patriot” and a “hero” for her anti-Trump activism, she is hesitant to accept their praise:

“When I started this, I just wanted to save my own ass… Not everybody else’s.”

She concludes:

“I’m just the lesser of two evils. Trump or Stormy? Which one am I gonna pick? Well, if I have to pick one, she’s got better hair.”
