You better believe Summit isn’t going to give up their cash cow!
The studio behind the Twilight franchise, is hoping that author Stephenie Meyer will write a fifth book so that they can get their grubby hands started on the sixth film and strike while the iron is still hot.
Summit co-founder Rob Friedman says that if SMeyer completes a fifth one (ahem, Midnight Sun, anyone??), they’ll be sure to back her.
Rob confirmed:
“If she (Meyer) wishes to do it, we├óΓé¼Γäóll be there to support her.”
Of COURSE you will! With Breaking Dawn Part 2 coming out later this year, experts project that the total worldwide box office earnings for the franchise will equal somewhere around $700 million.
Holy crap. That’s insane.
And with Breaking Dawn Part 1 being released on DVD and Blu-ray this weekend and the trailer for Breaking Dawn Part 2 debuting before all screenings of The Hunger Games, Twi-Hards are going to feel the clock ticking very, VERY fast.
They’re going to be desperate for another movie. And who can blame ’em?? We admit, we can’t get enough of Edward, Bella, and Jacob!
So, listen up, SMeyer. Get thee to your MacBook Pro swiftly and start typing away. There’s millions more dollar$ to be made!
