We don’t get it. These reality shows use private investigators to do detailed background checks and yet NO ONE ever just checks their damn Twitter??
It didn’t take Survivor fans long to find and screengrab season 37 contestant Jessica Reed‘s tweets from 2013-2015 during which she apparently freely used the N-word.

Jessica is white, btw. That’s her in the trailer for Survivor: David vs. Goliath. (More like David Duke vs Goliath, right? Sigh, racism is everywhere, and we’re dying inside…)
As a teenager at the time (she’s only 19 now), Jessica wrote things like:
“I just called Kayla a Frosty haha n***a ain’t from Wendy’s”
“Shout out to my n***a”
“I have a way with words….. n***a”
…and when someone called her out:
“n***a isn’t a cuss word !! Lol”
Outrage has slowly grown over the past month as more and more Survivor fans were made aware of the behavior.
Sources close to production told TMZ that CBS had learned of the tweets — though it’s unclear if that was during her vetting process or after fans discovered them.
Jessica has now released a statement, saying:
“I want to apologize for what I posted as a 14 year old teenager. In no way did I mean it in a derogatory nor racial way. I do hope people are willing to forgive, and understand I was immature and I’ve done a lot of growing up since then.”
Maybe that’s true.
But is this really who we want winning the reality TV lottery??
