Survivor Winner Richard Hatch Asks For An Appeal

It doesn’t hurt to ask, right?
Winner of the first Survivor and current contestant on Celebrity Apprentice, Richard Hatch, has asked a federal appellate court to hear his appeal after a judge sentenced him to nine more months in jail.
After failing (again) to pay taxes on the $1 million in winnings he received from Survivor, Hatch was sentenced to nine months in jail last week. He’s already served three years in jail for the same crime.
But now Hatch is asking the court to hear his case and also says that along with helping his sister with her business, he has several unidentified projects in the works and he needs time to put his affairs in order before he surrenders to prison.
He’s also asked the judge to wait to surrender until they determine a verdict on his appeal.
Seems like he’s just stalling time before he has to report to jail. We get that you don’t want to go back to the big house, Richard, but you might as well get it over with now so that you can get out sooner and you know, like pay your taxes or something.
