Whatever happened to…prison?
Reconvilier, Switzerland, a town with a population of 2,245 people and 280 dogs, is threatening to KILL dogs if their owners do not pay the annual $50 tax!
We’ve never heard a sillier idea in our life!
Why hold the dog responsible for its owners mistakes?
Local official Pierre-Alain Nemitz says the move is part of an effort to reclaim hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid taxes, saying:
“This isn’t about a mass execution of dogs, it’s meant to put pressure on people who don’t cooperate.”
Here’s an idea.
Punish the person not paying the tax, not the dog, who we’ll take time to remind you, is incapable of paying the tax.
If imprisonment, increased fines, probation, or jury duty aren’t options, maybe just take the dog away to a shelter where it can be adopted by a family who can pay this annual tax for dogs.
This is an unjust abuse of innocent animals by a government and we are APPALLED that they would kill a dog over $50!
