She said adios to Hollywood years ago, but now she is back! The precocious child star of My Girl, Anna Chlumsky, is now a grown woman who’s ready to “wow” us with her acting chops once more.
If you are wondering where she has been all these years, there is a simple answer: Hollywood sucks. Though she did well with the My Girl movies, she had a lot of trouble finding roles as a teen and the pressure became so much, she ditched the industry all together.
Says Anna, “I didn’t want to go down any scarier path of low self-esteem than I was already on the track for. So during my second year of college I was like, ‘I’m over it! I have to go see what this other thing called life is about!'”
So she went to college, got herself an education, and got married. She’s done pretty well for herself, actually.
But now it is time for the comeback and so far, she’s done pretty well. You can catch Anna costarring in the ensemble comedy In the Loop as well as sharing screen time with Alexis Bledel later this year in The Good Guy.
