Tamera Mowry-Housley‘s niece, Alaina Housley, was laid to rest on Thursday, one week after she died in the Borderline bar shooting in Thousand Oaks, California.

The former Sister, Sister actor commemorated the 18-year-old’s life on her Instagram account, acknowledging the memorial service with a series of pictures and an inspirational quote (below):

Housley had been just a freshman at Pepperdine University when this happened last week; losing a life at that age, and like this, is tragic and horrific on so many levels.
Our thoughts are with the Mowry-Housley extended family, and all of Alaina’s friends and loved ones.
