Stretch Armstrong Movie Picked Up By New Studio, But Taylor Lautner Remains Dropped

Aww! Everyone together now:
Whomp, whomp!
When Hasbro jumped on board with Universal Pictures, a lot of things happened at once. First, Hasbro did a happy dance to get connected with a major studio. Then, Unviersal shook things WAY up by dropping or shelving nearly every project they had in development based on their toys. One of the first to go was the Taylor Lautner-vehicle Stretch Armstrong.
The project has since been picked up by Relativity Media, but word has it, Taylor was not asked by the studio to be picked up along with it. While Lautner’s camp insists it was their “choice” not to sign back onto the movie, many speculate that Relativity didn’t want him, after his movie Abduction failed to impress at the box office.
In other words, this kid is going to have a rough go at it post-Twilight. Jacob Black was the role of his lifetime, but if he can’t get better projects lined-up, it might be his only one.
