We’re still shaking with excitement over the announcement of Taylor Swift‘s new album!
Shake It Off is like nothing we’ve EVER heard from our Swifty and she promises it’s only the beginning of her music makeover with 1989‘s impending debut.
But why the sudden transition from country to pop??! From heartbreaking ballads to catchy light jams??!
Tay Tay explained:
├óΓé¼┼ô[With ‘Red’] you├óΓé¼Γäód hear mandolin on one song and then on the next song you├óΓé¼Γäód hear dubstep. And you├óΓé¼Γäód just sort of think, ├óΓé¼╦£What?├óΓé¼Γäó It was also emotionally ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ it was a very devastating record. It was about dealing with an intense heartbreak and ├óΓé¼Γäó1989├óΓé¼┬▓ is about the phase after that where you brush yourself off and you├óΓé¼Γäóre OK. Writing ├óΓé¼╦£Red,├óΓé¼Γäó I was 21 and 22. Back then, I think my priorities were different. I was very enamored by romance and the idea of that.”
We would be enamored with romance too if our exes included hunks like Jake Gyllenhaal and Harry Styles! LOLz!
The singing sweetheart continued:
“24? At this point, I just want to be with my friends and I want to make music and I want to play shows and I want to travel the world. I want to define my life on my own terms.├óΓé¼┬¥
As long as it produces fabulous beatz like Shake It Off, then we’re all for this new attitude!!
GIRL POWER!
