Taylor Swift Accused Of Using Facial Recognition Software On Her Fans To Check For Stalkers!

Taylor Swift is watching you!
According to a Rolling Stone report, the songstress used facial-recognition technology to identify stalkers at her Rose Bowl concert in California back in May — and her fans had no idea!
The system was apparently built into a seemingly innocuous kiosk that was playing rehearsal footage from Tay’s Reputation tour. Swifties would stop and marvel at it, unaware that they were also being monitored by high-tech software that was allegedly sending images of their faces to a “command post” in Nashville.

Images taken from the crowd were reportedly cross referenced with a database that included people Taylor would consider a security risk, like one of her many stalkers.
Mike Downing, chief security officer of Oak View Group, which advises concert venues such as Madison Square Garden and L.A.’s the Forum, said he was invited to attend the performance by the maker of the facial-recognition tech, explaining to the mag:

“Everybody who went by would stop and stare at [the display], and the software would start working.”

How Black Mirror-esque of her!

While some may find this a huge privacy concern, The Guardian notes that all concerts are technically private events — meaning, Taylor can surveil you all she wants and doesn’t have to tell you ANYTHING.
So, maybe exercise caution before watching her Reputation tour special on Netflix. We clearly don’t know what Taylor’s capable of.
