Aww! Taylor Swift is so sweet!
The award-winning singer and songwriter has reached out to the family of a dead marine by not only sending flowers with a personal note attached (above), but by calling them too!
Sergeant Wade Wilson passed away during combat on May 11 and his friend, Corporal Josh Marreel, decided to ask Swifty via YouTube to honor the deceased. In a video, Marreel told the young star what a huge fan his buddy was and explained:
“This is a shout out to the one and only Taylor Swift. I know you have no idea who I am but this video isn’t about me. This is about good buddy, Sgt. Wade D. Wilson, who was killed in action Friday, May 11, 2012 in Afghanistan. Anybody that knew Willy knew that he worshiped you. He even slept with a post of you in between our beds in Afghanistan.”
Although it was a shot in the dark, Corporal Marreel’s efforts really paid off. On top of the flowers and phone call, Taylor has decided to wear Sgt. Wilson’s dog tags in her next music video to show support for military service.
Such a kind gesture! We’ll just add this to the long list of reasons that this gurl deserves all the love she gets from the general public.
