What a big little reveal from Little Big Town!
On Tuesday, during a live press conference at Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium, the group revealed Taylor Swift wrote the lead single off their forthcoming album!

According to the band, Swifty was the one who “pitched” them the song called Better Man, a tune the quartet immediately fell in love with.
Apparently Tay thought the track would go perfectly with the group’s “harmonies”, a hunch we happen to agree with!
Karen Fairchild went on to dish:

“She sent us this song and it was one that was very special to her.”

Well, anything that’s “very special” to Tay is definitely on our radar!
Fellow bandmate Phillip Sweet went on to explain:

“It just felt right… we’ve known Taylor since she was in high school… she’s a dear friend of ours.”

Check out Little Big Town’s special reveal around the 12:49 mark (below)!

The ballad itself has a lot more meaning now that we know the entertainer penned it. We can’t help but think the tune is 100% percent about her breakup from Calvin Harris given the disappointed and disillusioned tone.
Take a look at some of the more telling lyrics (below)!

“I know I’m probably better off on my own / Than loving a man who didn’t know what he had when he had it / And I see the permanent damage you did to me / Never again, I just wish I could forget when it was magic…
But your jealousy, I can hear it now / You’re talking down to me like I’ll always be around / You push my love away like it’s some kind of loaded gun / Boy, you never thought I’d run.”

Well, given Harris’ petty post-breakup antics we don’t think it’s a stretch to think the song is about him!
