With one day until the wedding of the century takes place at Madison Square Garden, we know some fans are wondering: will Taylor Swift be taking Travis Kelce‘s last name? Sources are coming forward with an answer, and introducing Mrs. Taylor Alison… Kelce! You read that right!
According to DailyMail.com on Wednesday, the pop star is planning to drop her maiden name and adopt her future hubby’s last name when they tie the knot on Friday. This likely comes as a shock given her whole brand is built around being Taylor Swift. However, a source clarified the last name change would be for personal use only! She’s keeping Swift for her professional career no matter what! The insider explained:
“Professionally, she’ll always be Taylor Swift. The name has become one of the biggest brands in entertainment, and there’s really no reason to change that.”

The singer has spent 20 years in the business as Taylor Swift! Everyone knows her as such, so it makes sense to leave it. At the same time, Tay Tay is “very traditional” and thinks using Kelce’s name in her personal life is a “very meaningful step” in their relationship:
“Personally, it’s a different story. Taylor is very traditional, and when it comes to marriage, she’d love to take Travis’ last name. In her personal life, the idea of being Taylor Kelce is something she genuinely looks forward to. She sees it as a meaningful step, especially knowing it would also be the family name their future children would share.”

But what about hyphenating their names? Either Swift-Kelce or Kelce-Swift? When the hosts of the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast suggested a hyphen in a video shared to Instagram, Travis did like the post! He seemed down for the hyphen! So would the pair go down that route? Apparently, Taylor is “not interested in hyphenating or trying to combine their names.” The source said:
“Both she and Travis think there’s something incredibly special and beautiful about sharing the same last name, even if the world will always know her professionally as Taylor Swift.”
A second source even backed the claim, saying:
“She will take his last name when they wed, but for work she will still go by Taylor Swift. Jennifer Aniston did this when she married Brad Pitt.”
But let’s hope Taylor’s marriage to Travis works out better than Jennifer’s marriage to Brad did! LOLz!
