In front of over 300 NPR staffers and Swifties, Taylor Swift gave us the gift of her Tiny Desk Concert.

On Wednesday, the media company released the singer’s anticipated performance video, where she sang The Man, Lover, Death by a Thousand Cuts, and All Too Well.

Before beginning her stripped-down solo performance, the 29-year-old shared with the crowd:

“I just decided to take this as an opportunity to show you guys how the songs sounded when I first wrote them.”

Hilariously, Miz Swift later explained to the crowd something she has been asked repeatedly over her career is “what will you do if you ever get happy? what will you write about?” The question is pretty funny considering SO many of Taylor’s songs are about falling in and out of love with various notable boyfriends like Jake GyllenhaalTaylor Lautner, and Harry Styles to name a few.

On Lover, there is one standout “breakup song,” Death by a Thousand Cuts, which she gathered inspiration from friends, movies, and books to write, instead of her presently happy relationship with Joe Alwyn. She spilled:

“This song is my proof you don’t have to stop writing songs about heartache and misery, which for me is incredible news.”

Fans online came out in full support for the pop songstress, who performed two acoustic tunes and two on the piano. Here are a few of the best responses from Twitter:

“Soo amazing ?????!! Thank you for this!!”

“Taylor acoustic will always be my favourite thing. Thank you! ???”

OMG It’s here AHHHHHHHHH!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️”

“literally the best thing ever!!! thank you for this!”

now when i say taylor swift is the most talented person to walk the planet i mean it.”
