And the competition was pretty fierce this year, considering a TON of high-profile pairs called it quits in 2016.

But now, Google has officially released its 2016 Year in Search, revealing which big breakups captured the internet’s collective attention the most!
In a surprise to no one, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie‘s dramatic divorce has topped the list. After all, Brangelina had been together for SO long and share six children!
Coming in second is the demise of Hiddleswift! This makes total sense, since Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston abruptly ended their whirlwind romance after only a few months of their HIGHLY publicized fling!
But it’s REALLY inneresting that Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid‘s “breakup” rounded out the Top 3, considering we still aren’t entirely sure if they even broke up in the first place! LOLz!
