Don’t get too excited, Swifties! Travis Kelce has not popped the question to Taylor Swift yet!
While some have questioned whether the couple will break up after the 2024 football season, others are a bit more optimistic about the relationship! A lot of fans online have speculated the couple could get engaged this year. In fact, many even thought the Kansas City Chiefs player would get down on one knee after the Super Bowl — though those theories should have gone out the window the second the team lost to the Philadelphia Eagles!

It’s not exactly the most romantic proposal when your guy is down in the dumps about not winning one of the biggest games of his career, yet the rumors persisted! Fans are dying to spot a ring on that finger!
But… they’re going to need a little more patience!
A person close to Travis’ entourage told The US Sun on Tuesday that Taylor and Travis are not engaged! Per their intel, a Super Bowl proposal was NEVER in their plans! That being said, it’s not like he’s upset by the rumors (or pressure) from fans. He’s just laughing them off! The insider explained:
“All those rumors are very funny to him, as he is just enjoying some time off from all the spotlights, and spending time with Taylor to enjoy simple things and get his energy back as the last year has been exhausting at many levels for him. They aren’t engaged yet, it wasn’t the plan to get engaged right after the Super Bowl, so all these rumors sound very funny to him.”
At this time, it sounds like the two are no rush to get engaged. They’re just trying to spend more time together instead following a busy year of football and the end of The Eras Tour. The source shared that Travis is “enjoying some time off,” getting “off the radars for a bit,” and taking “days to recharge the batteries and live a simple life off the spotlights” with Tay. They added:
“Watching their favorite shows and movies, cooking together, chillin’ and relaxing and enjoying each other’s presence and time. Resting on the couch, under the blanket, not doing much, disconnecting from the outside world for a bit, like everyone loves to do with their loved one. That is one of the things they like to do the most, and making cakes and pastries too, as she is trying to have him cook a bit more and help her do some of her favorites dishes and food delights.”
You know, all the normal stuff any normal couple would do! The insider continued:
“After that intense year, where both have been very busy and haven’t spent that much time together, they are just living a normal life for a bit, far from everything and from the massive spotlights that always follow them.”
That’s understandable! This is also a big reason why Travis hasn’t popped the question to Taylor yet. However, an engagement will happen! Just not right now! The source said:
“And no, Travis hasn’t asked her hand yet. It will come, but it hasn’t happened yet.”
