It is sounding more and more like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding is not happening in Rhode Island!
As Perezcious readers know, there has been a lot of talk about where the big day is taking place. The pair getting married at the Ocean House resort in Westerly on June 13 had been a strong possibility early on. In fact, there were rumors that Tay Tay paid off another couple to secure the date she wanted (which is a numerically significant date). However, Ocean House shut down that rumor. Wedding planner, Tara Guerard, even debunked the whole wedding venue and date theory, too!

People also thought Taylor and Travis would get hitched at her estate down the road — but the local authorities don’t think so! Why? They haven’t heard a single thing about the A-Listers hosting a big event in the area anytime soon, not at her home or anywhere else!
Westerly Police Department Chief Paul Gingerella confirmed to TMZ on Tuesday that the cops and town haven’t been involved or notified about a wedding involving Taylor or Travis this summer. And yes, they likely would’ve heard something by now, especially given how famous the future newlyweds are!
As the police chief explained, the cops were involved in Olivia Culpo‘s wedding to San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey at Ocean House in 2024. Those two are well-known, but nowhere near the same level as Taylor and Travis, who require way more security and safety measures in place for their big day! So if the local police department is in the dark about the wedding plans, then the pop star and the Kansas City Chiefs player are likely NOT getting married in that area!
Other signs Rhode Island isn’t the location? Senator Sheldon Whitehouse even told TMZ this week that he doesn’t think the wedding is happening in the state! Watch (below):
If the nuptials are not in Rhode Island, where then? As we previously reported, a source told Page Six the save-the-dates for Taylor and Travis’ wedding revealed they are getting married on July 3 in New York City! It is unknown exactly where in the city, but following the Westerly Police Department Chief’s comments, it’s likely the couple are actually tying the knot in the Big Apple!
