This 15-Year-Old Girl Got Stuck In A Barney Costume Head & Needed Firefighters To Get Her Out! Look!

This. Is. Hilarious.
This is the kind of thing you need to see to believe, so we’re SO glad her “friend” took a picture!
On Sunday, 15-year-old Darby Risner got trapped inside the head of a Barney the Dinosaur costume for 45 minutes… and needed firefighters to set her free!
We couldn’t make this sh*t up if we tried!

According to AL.com, it all started as a joke. The Alabama resident and her friends were hanging out at their church, when the teen saw the costume head.
Apparently, the pastor bought it years ago, but had since lost the bodysuit.
Anyway, Miz Risner decided she wanted to prank her friends with it, but got trapped inside when it slid down past her shoulders! Her momma, Audrey Shannon shared:

“Darby thought, ‘I’m going to scare them when they come downstairs.’ She put the Barney head on and when she sat down on the sofa to wait for them, it dropped. It slipped over her shoulders. When they finally came down, she got up and realized it had dropped so low, she couldn’t get it off. It was digging into her.”

Darby’s friends tried to get her out by covering her arms in Vaseline, but it didn’t work. That’s when the teen says she began to get worried, saying:

“The head was closing in on me. It was like a stuck-in-a-small-place-and-can’t-get-out-panicking.”

She added:

“I kind of gasped in fear like, ‘Oh no, what did I do?”’

But while her daughter was panicking, Audrey was laughing, explaining that Darby looked HIGHlarious:

“It gave her short little Barney arms since it was nearly at her elbows. It was hilarious. She couldn’t see, so they had to guide her.”

LOLz!
We imagine that we’d have trouble keeping a straight face in this situation, too!
But after the initial laughs subsided, the girl’s family called the Trussville Fire Department for help. However, they didn’t want the responders to turn the sirens on, but firefighters explained that it’s required if they respond to the home.
So, Darby was driven to the station instead.
Lieutenant Vince Bruno explained that he struggled to keep it together when he first saw the trapped teenager:

“When they walked in, you couldn’t help but start laughing. We tried to be professional, and she was a little distraught, but we had to giggle about it.”

Miz Shannon dished that even the firefighters had a tough time trying to get the youngster out of the giant Barney head, noting that the Vaseline made things even more difficult:

“She’s so little that when they lifted the head, it lifted her off the ground so they had to hold down her feet. And with the Vaseline on her arms, they said it was like trying to wrestle a greased pig.”

Eventually, they had to actually cut the costume to get rid of some of the pressure, and FINALLY Darby was free! And, once she was out, she finally found the whole ordeal funny:

“It was such a relief. I have laughed about it.”

Well, we’re just glad that she’s alright. And that this picture exists on the Internet forever.
