Remember him? Only just after announcing his candidacy, Texas Gov. Rick Perry has pulled ahead of all other Republican candidates as the GOP’s favorite for the 2012 presidential elections.
According to Gallup polls, 29% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents would support Perry, with the next choice being Mitt Romney with 17% of Republican support.
Perry is showing some real strength with older Republicans living in the South as well as conservative Republicans. Some of his weaknesses lie with moderate, liberal and young Republicans.
It actually looks like this guy could possibly have a chance of WINNING?! Ugh!
Everything could change though if Rudy Giuliani or Sarah Palin decide to enter the race. Even better! We could live with Rudy but good gracious please not her.
Though Perry has spun the Republican race in a new direction he still rates as a weaker front-runner than many other previous leading Republican candidates.
It may not be the end of days after all!
