Texas Man Told 911 Pregnant Wife Committed Suicide -- Now He's Been Arrested For Her Murder!

A Texas man is behind bars after his claims about his pregnant wife dying by suicide just didn’t add up!

Last week, Lee Gilley dialed 911 in the middle of the night and reported he woke up and found his wife Christa Bauer Gilley dead in an apparent overdose, according to Law & Crime. He reportedly told Houston police she wasn’t suicidal or a drug user to his knowledge. And she wouldn’t use drugs recreationally as she was heartbreakingly nine weeks pregnant at the time. According to ABC 13, the 38-year-old claimed he attempted to administer CPR but that his wife was unresponsive. Christa was rushed to a local hospital, but it was too late. She was ultimately declared dead.

But when the routine medical examination started, red flags immediately began to present themselves. For example, Christa reportedly sustained trauma to her body — but not the kind that would be consistent with CPR. No, this was trauma to her FACE! Like she was struck?? And in a shocking turn of events, legal docs obtained by ABC 13 revealed both the doctor AND medical examiner felt Christa’s injuries were consistent with strangulation… And ruled her death a homicide, not a suicide like Lee suggested.

Whoa!

Four days after Lee placed the initial 911 call, he was arrested as a suspect in Christa’s homicide — and ultimately charged with capital murder. He was booked into the Harris County Jail on Friday, and on Saturday appeared in court. According to multiple outlets, he admitted to investigators that he and Christa had been arguing before going to bed, and that their two children were home at the time of her death. In court docs obtained by Law & Crime, prosecutors claimed to have “good reason to believe” Lee “intentionally and knowingly cause[d]” his late wife’s death by “applying pressure to [her] neck and upper back, and intentionally and knowingly caus[ing] the death of unborn child.”

So so horrific.

During his court appearance, Lee was denied bond. He also appeared in court again on Monday, where a district judge also denied him bond. He’s next set to appear in court on Thursday, where his bond will be discussed once again, as well as if he will be allowed to be in contact with his two children.

Such a terrible situation. Even more so since Christa was pregnant and the two kids were HOME when whatever truly happened went down. We hope the truth comes out. Rest in peace, Christa.
