Janet Jackson stars in the writer/director’s new film, Why Did I Get Married?, which opened at #1 in the U.S. box office this past weekend with $21.5 million.
What makes this debut particularly noteworthy is that the film premiered on only 2,011 screens.
Big blockbusters and films that open that big usually show on twice or three times as many screens!
Why Did I Get Married? took in twice as much as the film that came in #2 this past weekend, The Game Plan.
