Wow! We knew this was going to be big!
But not BIGGER THAN BATMAN big!
The Amazing Spider-Man has been making all kinds of money since it hit theaters six days ago, and as the weekend wraps-up, the Andrew Garfield-starring reboot of the franchise made another $65 million, bringing its domestic total to a whopping $140 million, and $341.2 million WORLDWIDE!
And yes, that is infinitely bigger than the numbers made by the reboots of The Hulk, Superman, and Batman Begins – the latter only making $79.5 million!
Sony’s worldwide president of distribution Rory Bruer says:
“What a spectacular relaunch. There are so many facets of this movie that are compelling, including the chemistry between Andrew and Emma and the out-of-the-box direction of Marc Webb.”
And there ya go!
It seems as though audiences have already forgotten about Tobey and Kirsten!
Which is okay with us! We really dug this one, too!
Congrats, congrats to everyone involved! Can’t wait to see the next one!
How about U??
