The Artist star Jean Dujardin has gotten into some trouble in France for the provocative ad campaign for his upcoming movie The Players (above).
People have been complaining about the ads for the film because they feature Dujardin and his co-writer/director/actor Gilles Lellouche in “compromising positions that many argue are degrading for women.”
IN FACT, people have been complaining so much, that the ads are going to get taken down.
Here’s what France’s authority for the professional regulation of advertising head Stephane Martin had to say about the ads:
“We already feel that this campaign is against the rules…even if it relates to the subject of the film, a comedy about adultery. As a preventative measure, we├óΓé¼Γäóve already counseled JC Decaux, who are in charge of the billboards, to take them down.”
