Disney took a pretty big hit when John Carter flopped at the box office earlier this year, but it looks like the studio is going to EASILY make all that money back with the release of The Avengers.
Since the Marvel superhero movie has already made $218 million in foreign markets and is expected to make another $200 million this week as the movie opens in China and Russia, analysts think it could make over $400 million by Sunday. After adding the anticipated $150 million weekend in the U.S., that’s somewhere between $500 and $600 million!
Keep in mind that Iron Man 2 is Marvel’s most successful movie to date and it grossed a total of $623 million worldwide. The Avengers might get pretty close to that number within the first two weeks it’s on the market!
Damn! This movie is a MONSTER hit!
