The Bachelorette’s Desiree Hartsock Chooses Second-Place Suitor In Season Finale!

But second place is better than no place at all!

The Bachelorette bachelorette Desiree Hartsock picked her soulmate this week from the leftovers after her true love, Brooks Forester, left in last week’s penultimate episode.

And the runner up winner is:

Chris Siegfried!

We reported a few weeks ago that Des was indeed engaged, but we still didn├óΓé¼Γäót know to whom — ├óΓé¼╦£cause that├óΓé¼Γäós the way the show works, y├óΓé¼Γäóall!

It’s a MARRIAGE MYSTERY!

While everyone — including, it seems, Des — was positive Brooks would be her pick, he broke it off with Desiree last week and quit the show altogether, leaving Desiree to choose from Chris or Drew Kenney, who finished with a distant third in the race for Des├óΓé¼Γäós heart.

Des even told Chris as he was about to propose:

“I do want to be completely honest with you. I was torn apart by Brooks’s leaving. I loved him…I feel like I was blindsided by my feelings for Brooks that I couldn’t see the one thing I always needed.”

But Chris wasn’t dissuaded by Desiree’s feelings for Brooks, telling her when she finished her filibuster:

“I want to be your first and I want to be your last. Will you marry me?”

And she said “yes”!

Congrats, Desiree and Chris!
