The economy may still suck, but the box office raked it in this year! Variety proclaiming 2009 as the highest-grossing summer ever!
Wowza!
A big thanks, should be attributed to the craptastic blockbusters and geek-driven movie epics that filled the summer months. Among those big names that helped fuel the movie theater funds were Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen ($399.4 million), Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince ($294.3 million) and Disney/Pixar‘s Up ($289.6 million).
Who needs fresh air when there are fantastical worlds to escape to?!
