The First Two Years Of College Are A Waste

Think back now, if you will, to your freshman year of college. Remember the hookups and the late-night parties. Remember waking up at 1 in the afternoon and then hitting up the dining hall for all the free food you could eat. In between all the partying and overeating, do you actually remember any of the classes you took that year? Don’t lie because we know the truth – you don’t.
Researchers have learned that after two years in college, 45% of students showed no significant gains in learning! That’s pretty much HALF of everyone who went for their bachelor’s degree.
But don’t just blame yourselves, freshman. Sure, your brains are more fixated on socializing and getting laid in your first few years of higher learning, but maybe if you had some better motivation, you’d study more. The study conducted to gauge these results also found that teachers tend to be more “focused on their own faculty research than teaching younger students.”
For shame, educators! Don’t you guys take an oath or something!
But things don’t get all that better as time goes on either. After four years of school, 36% of the original 45% that didn’t learn anything showed little change.
Obviously, universities are making real winners out this generation. Money well spent parents of America.
Thank goodness the apocalypse is coming.
