The Great Gatsby Is So Great, Warner Bros. Is Pushing The Release Date Back To Summer!

Or the studio is afraid of the Christmas box office competition which includes films like Django Unchained, This Is 40, Les Miserables, Zero Dark Thirty and Jack Reacher.
Either way, fans of Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire will be disappointed that they have to wait another six months or so to see Baz Luhrmann‘s 3D interpretation of The Great Gatsby.
Warner Bros.’ President of International Distribution explained the studio’s decision in a statement reading:

“The responses we├óΓé¼Γäóve had to some of the early sneak peeks have been phenomenal, and we think The Great Gatsby will be the perfect summer movie around the world.”

We loved the trailer, the stills and pretty much everything about the remake so far. So yes, we agree with their reasoning, but we’re a little bummed we’ll have to wait longer to see this than we originally anticipated.
Looking at the bright side, at least the delayed release gives folks six more months to read the book! We know some of U used CliffsNotes in high school. Ha!
