Orlando Bloom stole almost every action sequence in The Lord of the Rings as the badass elf Legolas Greenleaf, but he may have some competition in The Hobbit from Evangeline Lilly.
The Lost star is playing a ├óΓé¼┼ôtrue Sylvan Elf├óΓé¼┬¥ named Tauriel. She’s not from any of J.R.R. Tolkien‘s source material, but in Peter Jackson, we trust, and her character sounds pretty cool.
Lilly described the newest addition to the Hobbit universe by saying:
“She├óΓé¼Γäós actually the head of the Elven guard. She├óΓé¼Γäós the big shot in the army. So she knows how to wield any weapon, but the primary weapons that she uses are a bow and arrow and two daggers. And she├óΓé¼Γäós lethal and deadly.”
The Spice Girls are going to be oh so proud of all that fierce girl power!
Unfortunately, we have to wait until the end of 2013 to see her in action because she’s barely, if at all, featured in the trilogy’s first installment. Rest assured though, she brings the pain in the second.
At least kids get to play with her action figure way before she ever makes a splash on the screen because the image (above) is snapped from the back of a toy box.
