It’s time to reap a new director!
Now that Lionsgate is almost done casting Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the studio is making plans for the third film in the franchise. Their first order of business: find a new director.
You see, production for Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2 is moving waaay too fast for Catching Fire‘s director Francis Lawrence to make the sequel and have time to prep the next movies. So, the book’s author Suzanne Collins and the rest of the studio heads are currently vetting the right directors for the next two films.
Of course, the films could benefit from having the same director… buuuut it appears that getting all four Hunger Games movies in the can is the studio’s #1 priority.
Is that the best plan….? Probably not!
But like the people of the Capital, as long as we don’t have go a year without a new Hunger Games, we won’t complain!
