Japanese Emperor, Akihito, who turns 75 this month, called off all official duties for Wednesday and Thursday after being diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat.
His reps said he needs “to have necessary checks and to rest.”
The Emperor’s wife, Empress Michiko, has also cancelled her duties for two days.
Interesting note, the Emperor heads the world’s oldest royal dynasty.
