The Late Night Wars: Part 2

NBC has confirmed that Jimmy Fallon will likely replace Conan O’Brien in 2009, when the ginger-haired comedian is supposed to take over for Jay Leno on The Tonight Show.

However, a lot still remains in the air. And, one of the interesting new developments is the possibility of moving The Tonight Show back to New York, where it began.

Fallon would move to LA and Conan would stay in New York, a move that would “set the stage for a vicious in-town booking war between NBC and CBS├óΓé¼Γäó Late Show with David Letterman for guests,” says Broadcasting & Cable.

That sounds like fun! We love the dramz!

However, there is still a real possibility that NBC may pay out O’Brien’s $40 million and keep Leno.

The peacock network has a year to decide. They need to make an announcement by May of ’08, when all networks reveal their new season to advertisers at the upfronts presentation in New York.

This should be juicy!
