Disney Is ThisClose To Green-Lighting The Lone Ranger After A Meeting With Depp, Verbinski And Bruckheimer

This is it, guys. We can feel it. If Disney can’t get the movie off the ground after this latest meeting, it’s just never going to happen. Let’s hope this meeting of the minds will take the movie out of neutral and into full speed!
Though there was word last week that director Gore Verbinski, Johnny Depp and producer Jerry Bruckheimer sat down with Disney’s head honchos about the fate of The Lone Ranger, turns out the meeting actually happen THIS week, meaning there should be a definite answer out of the studio THIS week about the new release date for the flick.
Oh yes, there will most definitely be a new, pushed-back date, so you can erase Dec. 21st off your calender. Also, don’t expect this flick to be that impressive. The budget has been slashed to bits, from cast salaries from special effects.
But regardless, it looks set in stone that Johnny will be in the film … as Tonto! Somewhere in the negotiations, Johnny decided to take the role of the Rangers trusted companion while Armie Hammer fills in as the title character.
Inneresting. Wonder why he decided that??!
