Meet The New Spider-Man!

No, not Andrew Garfield. This is more for the comics people out there.

We feel compelled to put a SPOILER ALERT here for those of you who still read the comics but are a bit behind. We wouldn’t read ahead if you are committed to the mythology.

For the rest of you, here’s the sitch:

Peter Parker is dead. Yeah, let’s just get that out of the way right off the bat. We don’t know all the details of how he meets his demise, but from what we’re told, he dies in the Ultimate Spider-Man Issue 160 that was released in June. So, buh-bye PP!

In his place rises a new hero – Miles Morales. The half-black, half-Hispanic begins to spin his own web as of Marvel Comics’ Ultimate Fallout Issue 4, though he won’t truly become Spider-Man until the Ultimate Spider-Man series relaunches in September with a new No. 1 issue.

We don’t know much about the boy’s story; just that he will become the new superhero in a similar way that Peter did and that he’ll be getting loads of help from Peter’s Aunt May and his lady Gwen Stacy. We also have a first look at what this new Spider-Man will look like – in the old suit (above)and the new one(below).

Thoughts??? We have to say, we appreciate the steps the company is making to include new nationalities and incarnations of classic characters to be relatable to this generation of readers.
