Read this statistic:
“In 1995, no state had an obesity rate above 20 percent. Now, all but one does.”
Holy shizz, guys. That’s terrible, terrible news.
Now read this one:
An annual obesity report by two public health groups looked for the first time at state-by-state statistics over the last two decades. The state that has the lowest obesity rate now – Colorado, with 19.8 percent of adults considered obese – would have had the highest rate in 1995.
The LOWEST would be the HIGHEST in 1995! How are we letting this happen?? This is so dangerous!
The good news is that the rates seem to be slowing now, with awareness on the rise. Only 16 states reported an increase last year, down from the 28 the year before.
Everyone has got to collectively work on this issue if we’re ever going to see a healthier, fitter, U.S..
We urge everyone to do their part, including those who provide food to people to switch to healthier alternatives in their options. There’s gotta be a way to reverse this, because let’s face it: our lack of care for our own health as compared to the rest of the world is pretty embarrassing right now!
Get out and move! Eat healthy! Feel amazing!
