The Republicans Have Their Moment Too

This is bound to raise some eyebrows!

Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman is set to speak at the Republican National Convention next month.

The self-proclaimed “independent Democrat” has been campaigning with John McCain often and is said to be on the list of potential future VPs.

At times Lieberman has criticized Presidential hopeful Barack Obama due to his opposition to the Iraq war.

Also at the Convention next month will be former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Giuliani will be giving the keynote address at the event in Minnesota.

And, several friends of McCain and potential VPs will also be present, such as President George Bush, first lady Laura Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, and even Cali’s own Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Aside from Giuliani, some other former Presidential hopefuls will also be in attendance to show their support, including Mike Huckabee and Governor Mitt Romney who’s said to be the top contender for VP.

As for Lieberman, he says, “I’m going to the Republican convention not to attack the Democratic candidate, but to explain to the American people why I support John McCain. Sen. McCain asked me to do it, and I strongly support him.”

McCain’s spokeswhore says said, “Our convention will showcase a cross-section of leaders who will highlight John McCain’s long commitment to putting our country first ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ before self-interest or politics.”

We’ll be watching!
