The Vampire Diaries cast is graduating! Literally. From Mystic High!
Nina Dobrev revealed that the cast is on set filming a TVD graduation scene today, set to air in the Season 4 finale!
She tweeted a photo from set (above) along with the following:
But what will graduation and the finale mean for the remaining cast members, especially considering the ever-increasing death tolls in the show’s previous season finales?!
Showrunner Julie Plec revealed some spoilers regarding the final episode. And while she answered some questions, it seems she’s stirred some bigger ones as well.

On whether graduation will be “normal” for these Mystic High students, Julie revealed:
├óΓé¼┼ôI think it├óΓé¼Γäóll be a miracle if any of our characters get to show up to graduation at this point… It├óΓé¼Γäós funny, because we learn in episode 21 that Matt has been secretly struggling to get to the end of the year because all of these distractions have actually distracted him from school. So we made jokes in the writers├óΓé¼Γäó room, ├óΓé¼╦£Donna Martin graduates! Let Matt Donovan graduate!├óΓé¼Γäó├óΓé¼┬¥
But what about the Elena-Stefan-Damon love triangle? Will we find out Elena’s true feelings for Damon soon?
“Yes. Without a doubt. Without a doubt. It will revitalize the triangle for sure, and as far as the Elena and Damon information, I think what it will do is cement their relationship — or lack thereof — once she comes clean with a sense of at least semi-permanence, if not permanence. It won’t be a little more of, ‘Oh, I love you, but I have to stay away.’ Or, ‘Oh, I hate you.’ There will be something that feels, okay, we’re going to settle in this for a while. And good or bad, how is that going to go?”
On graduation changing things for the show, she added:
“It means change. The more things change, the more they stay the same. We├óΓé¼Γäóll see who comes, who goes, who never comes back. There├óΓé¼Γäós all sorts of questions!”
