'The Voice' Contestant Beverly McClellan Dead At 49

The Voice Beverly McClellan Dead Cancer

Gone too soon.
Beverly McClellan has passed away at the age of 49 after a battle with cancer.
The unique singer forever put her stamp on pop culture by making the very first final four on season one of The Voice back in 2011.
Beverly’s family have been raising money to pay for her medical bills and keeping fans updated through a GoFundMe since she was first diagnosed with Stage 3 Endometrial Cancer back in March.

In a poignant statement to UsWeekly, Beverly’s rep confirmed the sad news, saying:

“It is with great sadness I have to share the news that we lost Beverly today. She was a wonderful, funny, complicated, and incredibly talented young woman who touched millions with her voice and her huge heart. I am honored to have been her manager and her friend. Please keep her spirit alive by sharing her music and all the wonderful memories you have of her.”

One more time, here’s Beverly’s blind audition that got her a place on Christina Aguilera‘s first team, singing the classic and Janis Joplin heartbreaker Piece of My Heart (below):
