The Wolfman Wants To Direct

Benicio Del Toro wants to get behind the cameras to make the magic happen!

While on the PR trail for his newest flick The Wolfman, Benicio expressed his interest in leaving the acting gig to the side for awhile and pursuing a career move into directing. He explains:

“I know much more about movies and acting than when I was 20. I do want to explore other things in the film world, (like) telling people what to do. I usually get told what to do. I’d like to try to direct something, to tell a story. And I’d like to produce some more.”

Benicio even has a mentor in mind to help him get started: Martin Scorsese! The two will begin shooting Martin’s newest flick Silence fairly soon and Benicio would like to take to opportunity to pick the director’s brain while filming. He said:

“That’s definitely something that I’m really looking forward to. Every time I talk to him, it’s like the same as meeting with (Star Wars character) Yoda.”

Well, if you are going to learn, better to learn from the best!
