The World's Oldest Living Person Dies

The world’s oldest living person died on Friday.

Maria de Jesus became the world’s oldest person at age 115 after the death of Edna Parker, also 115, in November.

Maria was born in Portugal on September 10th, 1893. She never learned to read or write, and according to her daughter, Maria Madalena, she never “fell ill, nor took any medication” while working the fields and raising her 6 children.

American Gertrude Baines, born April 6, 1894 is now the world’s oldest living person.

Rest in peace!

P.S. Is it a coincidence that someone named after Jesus AND Mary lived to be 115???

Maybe not!
