TikToker Tea Tyme Locked Up After Allegedly Running Over Pedestrian While Livestreaming

A popular TikToker was arrested right before Christmas after allegedly running over a man while she was driving and live streaming.

Tea Tyme, whose real name is Tynesha McCarty-Wroten, made headlines back in early November after a shocking video showed her allegedly running over a pedestrian. In the video, you can hear a loud thump before she begins swearing. She abruptly ends the live stream afterwards.

Per law officials, 59-year-old Darren Lucas was walking across an intersection in Illinois when Tyensha ran a red light and rammed into him with her car. She allegedly didn’t stop, either… She kept pushing forward and completely ran him over. Whoa… See the video and a photo of the victim (below):

Reports also say she called 911 and remained at the scene to answer police’s questions. He sadly passed away from his injuries, which led to the driver being arrested on December 22 with two felony charges — reckless homicide and aggravated use of communications resulting in death.

New reports also say her 7-year-old grandson was in the car with her, which just makes the whole case even more dangerous… Ugh.

Prosecutors for the Lake County State’s Attorney submitted documents on Friday urging the courts not to release her pre-trial, saying she “posed an incredible risk to every driver and pedestrian”. They also added that she’s “selfish” and that Lucas’ death was “preventable.”

On top of all this, while it’s worth noting officials confirmed she didn’t have any alcohol in her system that night, prosecutors claim she’s been arrested for DUI in the past and has also been caught driving with a suspended license before. So they really don’t want her walking free right now!

Such a terrible situation. Rest in peace, Darren.
