TLC Defends Virgin Diaries: It's Not Exploitation, It's Celebration!

TLC is defending their one hour special on virgins.
While many critics are calling Virgin Diaires TLC’s latest debacle of privacy, TLC West Coast VP of Production, Timothy Kuryak, says otherwise.
Kuryak said the following about the new show:

We’re not trying to make light of this or treat it in a sort of trivial way. We want to document these peoples’ stories and why they make this decision.
A lot of stories about later in life virgins talk about it like a problem. We want to show that this is something that can be celebrated.

While everyone has a right to keep their virginity, leading with a promo showing this most awkward kiss in the history caught on tape doesn’t exactly inspire anyone.
The two kissers, Shanna and Ryan will be remembered forever.
But not as virgins. Just virgins who can’t kiss. At all.
