Seriously. Tobey Maguire must love playing poker.
So much so that he has two separate bank accounts devoted to it: Poker Account and Poker Account (2), as revealed by:
“a legal response that Maguire filed on July 5, 2011, to a lawsuit that was filed against him for money he├óΓé¼Γäód won from convicted Ponzi schemer Brad Ruderman, and included copies of checks to prove he both won and lost money during the illegal poker ring games, putting him about even with Ruderman.”
There are also records of checks issued and their specific amounts:
On June 2, 2007, Maguire wrote out check #60081 for $105,000 to Ruderman and then just two months later on August 6, 2007, check #60090 to Ruderman for $28,500. That leaves nine checks somewhere in between that Maguire had used from his poker accounts.
That’s a lot of money, Tobey!
We say that if you’re doing it legally, fine, go ahead. Just don’t love it so much that you risk more than money doing it illegally!
Maybe next time just go to Vegas or somewhere where gambling is legit.
Plus, who actually creates checking accounts specifically for gambling…?
